Scooter’s Air Pollution Tips for Warmer Months

Hi Friends,

I want to let you know how air pollution during the warmer months can affect our health, and share with you my best tips to protect our heart and lungs from harmful pollution! Check out these videos for tips to help you Spare The Air and protect yourself and your family from air pollution!

If your family is planning to BBQ, remember to use a gas grill rather than charcoal. Using charcoal when barbecuing creates air pollution that can be extremely harmful for us to breathe. Make sure to ask your mom and dad to use a gas grill instead!

When helping your parents clean the yard and garden, remind them to use manual or electric gardening tools. Gas lawn mowers and gardening tools, such as weed whackers and leaf blowers, release a lot of harmful pollutants into the air that that are bad for your health and our air quality. Help reduce air pollution by asking your mom and dad to switch to electric or manual gardening tools, instead of using gas equipment!

For more air quality information, check out my website, and don’t forget to ask your parents to download the FREE Sacramento Region Air Quality app. They can use the app to check the daily air quality forecast and get current conditions at the air monitoring sites in our region, as well as Spare The Air alerts.

Your pal,
