Q&A With Scooter!

Learn more about your favorite air quality friend, Scooter:

Q: Why are you named “Scooter”?

A: My friend, Kennedy Kell, from Sacramento named me Scooter because riding a scooter helps Spare The Air– it uses less gas than driving a car.

Q: What are your favorite ways to Spare The Air?

A: I like to Spare The Air by sharing car rides with friends, turning off the lights when leaving a room, recycling my soda cans, and reusing my refillable water bottle instead of opening a new bottle of water every time I’m thirsty.

Q: What else can my family do to help Spare The Air?

A: There are lots of things we can do with our families to help keep our air clean.

  • Avoid unnecessary car trips — encourage your family to bring their lunch to work or to work from home when they can
  • Encourage your family to have a plan when driving, link errands into one big trip — save fuel, save time, save money, and help Spare The Air
  • Plant a tree
  • Shop at farmers’ markets for locally grown fruits and vegetables
  • Walk, ride a bike, skateboard, or scooter, instead of driving

Q: What are your favorite activities to do?

A: I like skateboarding and playing catch with my friends. I also like doing the word search on my website!

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Pizza with doggy biscuits on it. It’s delicious.

Q: How old are you?

A: I’m six years old—which in dog years means I’m 42!

Q: What are some of your favorite things to do in the Sacramento area?

A: I love going to all the great community events we have here in the Sacramento region and making new friends. I visit schools, farmers’ markets, safety nights and even festivals! Check out my calendar to see where I’ll be next. I hope to meet you soon!

Q: Why is Sparing The Air important to you?

A: Sparing The Air is important to me because I want to protect the ones I love. I want everyone to be happy, healthy and have clean air to breathe.
